Treating, letters, and other post-assignment concerns.

Treats: You can now access a spreadsheet with all the letters and their requested fandoms here (thanks to somehowunbroken, who put the spreadsheet together.) for all your treating needs. You can also view all requests that were made for the challenge here.

In case it hasn't been emphasized enough, treating is not only welcomed, but despearately encouraged. The main goal of this ficathon was always to generate more fanfic about the overlooked female characters, and treats certainly help with that. We're leaving all requests visible, so you are free to write as many fics of any length as you like. You do not have to be an official participant in order to write treats, so feel free to link the spreadsheet and requests around, if you think other people might be interested in writing you (or others) treats. [There's now a tumblr post you can reblog for that purpose.]

Letters: If your writer hasn't yet updated their placeholder or put up a letter, please, keep in mind that some people wait till after the assignments go out to compose their letters. The letter links are still slowly but steadily trickling into this post, so people are still working on them. Give your writer a few days, and if you still don't see anything in a week, we'll be happy to nudge them for you.

Please, also remember that letters are recommended, but not required, so your recipient may very well never put one up. In that case, assume that they don't have any strong squicks or dislikes that they wish for you to avoid rather than assuming that they'll hate it. Write a story that will cause you the least amount of stress. :)

On the other hand, if you haven't yet put up a letter or have a placeholder, please, save your writer some stress (I mean, that should come after reading your letter ;), and put one up as soon as you can.

Quick question re: treats: when can/should we upload them? :)

You can upload them whenever since the collection is set to not reveal stories till the first week of May. :)

Beta thread?

Anyone interested in starting a thread for beta-reading volunteers? That's my biggest post-assignment concern at the moment. I've still got a few weeks before I think about posting. :)

Re: Beta thread?

Hi! For some reason, this went to my spam folder and I just saw it. We'll put up a beta post this weekend. :)

Re: Beta thread?

I don't actually keep an LJ blog, just a log-in for leaving comments. So I would be totally unsurprised if I look spammy! But I'm totally on board for beta stuff. Thanks for putting up the post, and hopefully many betas will be forthcoming!

Do treat-writers also have to post before/on April 28? And can you gift one fic to more recipients if they want the same?

No, treats can be written/uploaded whenever, there's no deadline. And gifting to multiple recipients is fine, as long as it's not one of the recipients' primary gift.

Because I'm feeling braindead in need of caffeine & can't remember, do treats have to be the same 1k word minimum as regular stories? Am checking on my spoons & want to potentially do some treats...

There's no minimum word count for treats. :)
